Use an expression for the gravitational potential energy of the satellite to show that the total energy E of a satellite is given by

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[E= -(GMm)/2r\]

An integral of the gravitational force equation will yield the energy due to gravity of your satellite. See diagram for details.

this one is good, but i think that their must be another way, cause this was a question in an Advanced level physics, where maths is not a requirement. I`ll ask my sir, as soon as possible and will give you the other version. if it exists obviously

hmmm, my guess is he may be looking for the unmathematical description of what I did there. Consider "The force experienced by satellite as it orbits the planet, when summed up over it's entire trajectory, gives the total energy of the satellite within the gravitational potential well." Lemme know what he says!
