Is 98 a perfect square? Explain.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope since : \[sqrt{98}\] can also be written as \[sqrt{49*2}\] 49 is the perfect square of 7 and 2 is not a perfect square hence the square root of 98 is \[sqrt{49*2}\] or \[\sqrt{2}*7\]
