How do I improve mental math? I can't even multiply decimals in my head and barley basic numbers. Please help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Only Practice can improve that.

But where to start?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ah I don't know just do your class problems... more and more every time that's the only way you can become a good human calculator and do learn mathematical tables upto 20 though I don't do this stuff and I don't either recommend you to do but if you want to improve then you can start.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

there is no way to improve your mental math other than practicing it out on paper; if your looking for convenient ways to spit out a number regardless of how the math is worked, there are "snake oils" for that online.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

you start with knowing how to add and subtract; multiply and divide; log and exponent; and whatever other stuff there is to do :)

I had a problem with that too. I asked for help from a teacher and my parents. Even friends. I improved it by practicing problems out on paper. It took a while to master, but in time, I completed it. I remember in 5th grade, we had to do a sheet of 50 multiplication problems. We started out with 3 minutes, and by the end of the year, we'd have to do it in 45 seconds. I never really did great on it, but with some extra practice at home, I was able to complete all 50 in the time given of 45 seconds. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE :)

Thank you guys , I will do my best
