Hey hope this helps :) it is sort of giving a value to weight that is far away from you. As in if you hold a book it will be much heavier when you hold the arm straight than if you hold it close. 'Moment' refers to 'moment of inertia': http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moment_of_inertia By the way, I second ^ plitter. I highly recommend Khan Academy.

moment or momentem of inertia is the amount of resistance created by mass to a certain change for example smaller mass have lower resistance or moment of inertia larger mass have larger moment of inertia.u can take a ball rolling down a cliff,..its easier to stop the smaller one than the larger one .
