How do you solve these two equations on a graphing calculator to graph it? 2x – y = 5 3x – 2y = 12

hero (hero):

y = 2x - 5 y = 3/2x - 6

hero (hero):

or y = 3x/2 - 6

hero (hero):

Basically, you graph them by simply solving both equations for y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah but i cannot add the = sign at the end

OpenStudy (anonymous):

on the casio calculator i've got u go into graph function then into y= bit and enter the rest and press draw it will show the the graphs and then u press solve

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how would you plug it in if u have a TI-83 plus graphing calculator?

hero (hero):

Those generally come with the equal sign already. All you should have to do is just plug it in and press graph

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that i dont know but i imagine it would be in a similar fashion

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah but what would i do with the =5 part? I cant plug it in?

OpenStudy (phi):

Here's the guide book... it looks long http://education.ti.com/calculators/downloads/US/Guidebooks/Detail?id=6124

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you would plug in 2x-5 - check with heros first post

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you need to transform your equations into 'y='

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i got it thank u so much :)
