How do you show that a figure is equilateral using algebra?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

side + side + side + ... + side = n(side)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

maybe

OpenStudy (amistre64):

side=side=side etc ... never really tried

OpenStudy (amistre64):

any particular figure in mind?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

sposea triangle has 3 equal sides; then the perimeter = side + side + side = 3(side)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just a regular equilateral

OpenStudy (amistre64):

equilateral measn same sides; so as long as the sides add up to the product of the number of sides and a given side; you should be good. Might have some drawbacks to it, but its a good theory

OpenStudy (amistre64):

spose you have a triangle of 3-3-6; 3+3+6 = 12; 3(3) = 9 and 3(6) = 18 , so it doesnt equate to an equi does it ... maybe its good :)
