I am using APA style. If I have 2 references from the same author and same year, how do I cite them in-text?

You can cite them in two different ways. I want to point out that you can alternate between the two techniques of citing. In one sentence you can use technique 1 and then in the next sentence you can use technique 2. 1.) The first way is to mention the author in the sentence and then give the publication date and page number it can be found on in round brackets ( ). Example1: John Lazzui says that there is hope in a world full of self-important people (2010, p. 300). 2.) Second way is to use round brackets with the author's last name, publication date, and page number. If you want to cite an author and what he says on multiple pages, or even the same page, just include the page number. Example2a: I remember as I teenager I read a book about a man addressing arrogance, he said "arrogance is a flaw, not a strength. Arrogance is a tool of deception, in which is meant to confuse people to believe they are God" (Lazzui, 2007, p. 128) Example2b: There were many quotes I hold to be be very true and enlightening. I don't quite remember it clearly but I believe he said that there is light at the end of the tunnel of despair and even though we may not believe it, it is there (Lazzui, 2009, p. 450). The second quote, I remember clearly: "People who think only of themselves cannot be great leaders. Great leaders listen to their followers and befriend them, so that he is not alone in his/her decisions" (Lazzui, 2007, p. 300). In Exmaple2b, I want to say that if the publication date is similar, the author is similar, as well as the page number, you can just leave it that way. As long as the reader can find the quote of the author on the page number cited, then it'll be fine. (i.e: (Lazzui, 2007, p.14) & (Lazzui, 2007, p. 14))

Forgot to mention that you also need a separate piece of paper to properly cite the author, book title, publication date, etc..(Just a reminder if you haven't done so already)
