Factor by grouping 10x^3-14x^2+45x-63 grouped? (10x^3-14x^2)+(45x-63) after that I am confused .....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

group is right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

take out gcf's

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea thats were I get confused

OpenStudy (anonymous):

45x-63 - take out 9 to get 9(5x-7)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

noww try and get 5x-7 from other part

OpenStudy (anonymous):

take out 2x^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2x^2(5x-7) + 9(5x-7) can you carry on from there?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I will try .......the gcf is 5x-7 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes 5x - 7 is common to both parts so whats left goes into another bracket the final answer is (5x+7)(2x^2 + 9) 2x^2 + 9 can't be factored any further so thats it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My book says to then factor out the common factor, so would I get 2x^2+9(5x=9)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh I see

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

got it thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hey, how did you get the 9(5x-7)? Im trying to do another one x^3+6x^2-7x-42 (x^3+6x^2)-(7x-42) i got 7(6x-?) is that right so far?
