When asked to find the coterminal angle within 0 and 360 degrees, and the given is a negative number, does that mean we have to keep adding 360 until it becomes positive?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

may be!!!! but the starting angle should be an acute angle !!!!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But what if the given is something like -500, it was in one my books. And the resulting equation was: -500+360=-140, then -140+360=220. So..?

OpenStudy (precal):

Coterminal angles are angles that end in the same place. For example, 30 and -330 are coterminal because they end in the same place.

So how exactly do find an angle's coterminal angle? Is there a formula for it or something?

OpenStudy (precal):

No, you have to draw it.
