Can someone explain this to me step by step and give an answer please.. it's substitution. 1st problem. 3f-5g=15 2nd problem. g=2f+4

OpenStudy (amistre64):

step 1; g has a value equal to (2f+4) step 2; use that value and substitute it for "g" in the other equation step 3; solve for the lone variable "f" and use that solid value to find a solid value for "g"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer is 86 squared

j miller, they are not two separate problems. they are both equations in the same problem. In general if you have n unknown variables, you need n discrete linear equations to find out all the unknown variables.

86 squared? that doesnt seem right to me.
