I set the function to zero Then i factored and got two terms. Next i applied the zero product property and i found the roots, by that i mean that i set each term term to zero and solved for x

Are you sure it's 2x^3 – 9x + 3? The roots are nasty. but suppose they are r1, r2, r3, then of course 2x^3 – 9x + 3 = 2(x-r1)(x-r2)(x-r3)

You probably should try finding the roots by using some numerical methods, which will give you approximated values of the roots.

If I were you, I would start by plotting the polynomial to help me have a general view of the function and where the zeros might be. Then, I would use a method like Newton's method to approximate the roots.
