e^(x+8)=5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x = ln5 - 8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you just solving for x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes thank you. I tried to find an example in the book but no luck.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ln(e) always just brings the power of e down to the function so, x + 8 = ln5 does that make sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's a very simplified way to say it, but practically true

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes it makes plenty sense. And you get the ln5-8 by canceling the 8 on the other side...right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Indeed you do.
