Which statement best shows the difference between a line and a point? A) A line and a point cannot be collinear. B) A point has no location but a line can lie on a plane. c) A point has no dimension but a line has length as a dimension to measure. D) A line has width and depth but a point has only length as a dimension to measure.

c

do you care why, or just want the answer?

please explain.... i would like to understand what im doing

OpenStudy (turingtest):

Well, a point on a graph is just some set of coordinates like (0,0), so it does have a location (that rules out answer B). since a point has no length, width, or depth it is a 0 dimensional object. A line has only length so it is 1 dimensional (that rules out D). The term "collinear" means on the same line, and since you can put a point on a line answer A is just plain wrong i.e. (0,0) is on the line y=x. That leaves C as your only choice.
