A negative exponent means that it goes as denominator. For example, x^-2 equals 1/x^2

Just put the number with the negative exponent in the denominator.. so for example \[2^{-2}\] is written like this \[\frac{1}{2^{2}}\] Which is \[\frac{1}{4}\]
