OpenStudy (anonymous):

find the limit

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\lim_{x \rightarrow \infty} \sqrt{x^2-2x}-x\]

myininaya (myininaya):

multiply top and bottom by the conjugate of the top

myininaya (myininaya):

\[\lim_{x \rightarrow \infty}\frac{(x^2-2x)-x^2}{\sqrt{x^2-2x}+x}\]

myininaya (myininaya):

x^2-x^2=0 now divide both top and bottom by sqrt{x^2} remember sqrt{x^2}=|x| |x|=x if x>0 |x|=-x if x<0 since x-> positive infinity then |x|=x
