multiply the first one by 4 12 + 4y = 56 as you see you have two equations which are the same.. you can for example subtract one from another to get 0=0 which is true. infinite number of solutions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[y=14-3x\] plug in y into the second equation so you have\[12x+4(14-3x)=56\] solve for x \[12x+56-12x=56 \] so that \[0=0\] . This is a true statement so you have an infinite amount of solutions
