What is the equation of the line in slope-intercept form that passes through the point (3, –5) and is perpendicular to the line y = 3x – 6? Answer a.y = -1/3x + 4 b.y = –3x – 4 c.y = –3x + 4 d.y = -1/3x – 4

First, because it is perpendicular, the slope must be the reciprocal, making it either A or D, second, if you change the Y intercept to a B and replace the y and x with the given point -5=-1/3(3)+B, then solve for B you will get -4, make that your y intercept and viola! your answer is D
