looks like a chain rule question to me. the derivative of "something" squared is two times "something", times the derivative of the "something"

in this case your "something" is \[s^3-2\] and its derivative is \[3s^2\] so your answer is \[2(s^3-2)\times 3s^2\] which you can lean up with some algebra
