In mitosis, when a centromere splits apart, I couldn't figure out by diagrams or illustrations where it split, and for what purpose. Could anyone explain what is actually happening when the centromeres are splitting?
luk centrioles replicate itself and the by the formation of spindle fribres between them the replicated centrioles as the fibre elongate centriole start moving to the opp. poles and centrioles get placed opposite to each other now when the chromosomes got align in equator then these spindle fibre get attach to the centomere and when the spindle fibres contract both the spindle fibres tries to keep the chromosome near by themselves at this time centromere get into two halves result centromere got split
Thanks! That helps; I probably need a bit more help understanding it, but this should do for now.
