\[\large{(c^2)(d^2)^2}=c^2d^4\]

A better way to think about this problem is (cd^2)^2 = cd^2 * cd^2. Bringing c's and d's together, you get c*c * d^2*d^2. Which then becomes c^2*d^4. Always a good idea to break down the problem into simpler parts.
