If i have quadratic equation in the form of ax^2+bx+c=0 what does 0 represent on a graph? is it the y intercept? If i have quadratic equation in the form of ax^2+bx+c=0 what does 0 represent on a graph? is it the y intercept? @Mathematics

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the two y intercepts

OpenStudy (amistre64):

x intercepts, but yes

OpenStudy (amistre64):

when y = 0 we are crossing the xaxis

ohhhh okay thank you both!

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

think of it as:\[y=ax^{2}+bx+c\]if you plot this curve, then whenever it crosses the x-axes, y will be zero. So the zero represents the y-co-ordinate of the points where the curve crosses the x-axes

that is very helpful! thank you!
