@What is the equation of the line passing through (–6, 1) and perpendicular to the line y = –3x + 1 in slope-intercept form? @What is the equation of the line passing through (–6, 1) and perpendicular to the line y = –3x + 1 in slope-intercept form? @Mathematics

Perpendicular line has the slope of (-1) times the reciprocal of the slope of the given line. In the above case, the slope of the line is -3. So, the perpendicular line has a slope of (1/3). Writing the line as y = 1/3x + b and given it passes through (-6,1) you should solve for b and then write that equation out.
