OpenStudy (aroub):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u can input 0-9 and A-F ......... can u plz xpalin the context little more

OpenStudy (aroub):

Umm, like what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what you mean by web-safe.....is it related with progrmming or scripting anything

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's blue color, why it's unsafe?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

looks perfectly valid.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\huge\color{#004466}{\text{In fact it is this color ☺}}\]

OpenStudy (aroub):

I know that's what I'm saying! but it says that it's invalid... lol cool :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

where does it say that it's invalid? show us source

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Probably some old book. "Web-safe" colors aren't relevant in the age of Facebook.

OpenStudy (aroub):

it's a question and an answer page! do you want to see it? ( I'm pretty sure the answers are correct!)

OpenStudy (aroub):

What do you mean by that agd?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i want to see

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The question asks if the color #004466 is web-safe i.e. it will show up in systems with only 235 colors.

OpenStudy (aroub):

if yes go to question number 31.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

256* colors

OpenStudy (aroub):

not 216?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There are only 216 safe colors, right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

agdwngo do you know why?

OpenStudy (aroub):

Did you see the page Tomas?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah, but idk why :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you should have posted this in previous questions :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/8-bit_color

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2 decades ago the average video hardware supported only those 256 colors :-D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or was it 3... I forget :-P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

http://html-color-codes.com/

OpenStudy (aroub):

lol I can post it again :P @ Tomas @agd, HMMMMMMM! okay cool :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they all contain 'odd' digits.

OpenStudy (espex):

Looks like you guys are having fun. :) Two decades ago it was only 4-bit color on most x86 systems.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this stuff? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_Graphics_Adapter

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but that would mean like only 16 colors are actually color ssafe

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or 8 colors?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Web Safe is deprecated. Don't ask me why it's still around. Web Safe was for color displays that only supported 256 palette entry. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_colors#Web-safe_colors

OpenStudy (rsmith6559):

If you check out http://marketshare.hitslink.com/ It's surprising how much old hardware is still out there.

OpenStudy (mattfeury):

FWIW, in my opinion that test seems pretty far out of date. If this is for a class you're taking, you should ask for your money back :p. Otherwise, you may want a better resource. It lists Netscape as a common web browser...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thats valid........

OpenStudy (aroub):

Okay, I asked about this today and got an answer... it's invalid because the 'web-safe' ONLY contains: 0,3,6,9 and C,F
