What is the slope of the boundary for y < 3x + 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is the equation of the line for that boundary?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im not 100% sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Would you walk me through the process?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y < 3x + 2 means all of the y values below the line 3x + 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So the boundary line is \[y=3x+2\]This should be familiar as the slope/intercept form of an equation of the line:\[y=mx+c\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so how would we find the slope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The slope is the 'm' in the equation of the line.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

From my understanding of slope = gradient, and this is linear graph that mean where that point of where the area it cover, the slope always the same
