Subtract. (0.5x4 − 0.6x2 + 0.7) − (2.3x4 + 1.8x − 3.9)
Does this have to use the distribution law for solving if so can I get some help on it please
I hate to be a bother but someone help me:(( i need help
for the problem you posted right coral?
yes sinz:)
okay give me a minute and I will see what I can do.
thank you!
your welcome
0.5x^4 - 0.6x^2 + 0.7 - 2.3x^4 - 1.8x + 3.9 -1.8x^4 - 0.6x^2 - 1.8x + 4.6
i think you mean ^4 and ^2 ?? am i right
yes
remember to click good answer
do I simplify before solving?
Abdul do I have to simplify before doing the main subtracting like getting rid of the exponents?
No, I don't think it can be simplified.
okay thanks
no need to simplify just expand the brackets and subtract
okay how did you get the addition symbol though?
for which one
0.5x^4 - 0.6x^2 + 0.7 - 2.3x^4 - 1.8x + 3.9 -1.8x^4 - 0.6x^2 - 1.8x + 4.6
1.8x+3.9 and 1.8+4.6
ok the first line to my answer was just showing the brackets expanded the second line to my answer was the actual answer
now when expanding the brackets − (2.3x4 + 1.8x − 3.9) you need to multiply everything inside the bracket by the minus sign outside remember - * - gives you +
okay was just curious was all
I forgot that 2 negative = a positive
ok
