In this example why do you do 360/Number of sides? (More specifically why 360?). See attached file. I'm lerning about finding area of a regular shape. before finding the apothem I need to know the measure of the central angle to use trig It says C(central angle)= 360/5(# of sites, Pentagon) Why is it 360?

because the sum of the angles of every closed shape is 360º. For example, the sum of the angels of every rectangle or square or pentagon, or hexagon is 360º... For a triangle, the sum is 180º...

I thought it was 180(Sides -2)
