explain why animals have specialized excretory organs but plants do not.

my ques to u can u tell me why plants donts have respiratory organs as aniamls have.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they can constantly remove some waste substance through transpiration, and some plant excrete by wilting its leaves. Plus they don eat like us, animal, thus they don need to have specialized system to remove waste substances.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

excretion is the phenomenon through which the waste product of our energy metabolism and digestion is transferred to environment or is given out from body. we eats from outside and also uptake the undersized products with the necessary one. So we require a enzyme system which can utilize the essential metabolites from our food and the rest waste material is excreted. but the plants have waste product of only and only metabolism and this is excreted through transpiration, some glands and also by shedding their leaves. ok.

excellent question, heena! Plants do not have respiratory organs - thus, oxygen diffusion is way less effective than in our bodies, for example. BUT: Most plants have relatively few living cells outside of their surface because air (which is required for metabolic content) can penetrate only skin deep. However, most plants are not involved in highly aerobic activities, and thus have no need of these living cells. This is why plants donÄt need as much oxygen and therefore no respiratory organs. in fact, we need oxygen to power food digestion , mostly. since plants don't "eat" energy-rich food, digesting it through oxidation, they have nearly no need for oxygen at all. the carbon dioxide needed is taken in through stomata on the underside of their leaves.
