i am taking computer [programming, and im currently taking project management as a course, any one taking that on here?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i am taking that one too. what do u wanna know more about that??

OpenStudy (llib_xoc):

I've been managing projects for a while, and I'll take a try at any questions that you have. My answers may not be the answers that you teacher is looking for, however.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

owh ok, maybe you can share your experience in managing a project

OpenStudy (llib_xoc):

OK. There are a few principles that work well: plan for *everything* (requirements gathering, machine time, vacation time, meetings, testing, documentation, training) keep completed project documents around - planning a project is easier when it's based upon experience with a similar project have the engineers who will do the work do much of the planning - how can someone make as estimate of effort for someone else? have meetings about weekly to communicate - note that this differs from the Agile daily "stand up" meetings it's way better to promise less than you intend to deliver, at a later time than to promise more than you can deliver for an earlier time. This principle is called "under promise and over deliver". Feedback please. Are these interesting/useful?
