Help!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A take home test? .... Are we allowed to graph?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If this is a take home test then it might not be good to answer it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please help me man :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

HAAAAAAAAAAAAALPPPPPPPPPP!!!

OpenStudy (vishal_kothari):

3.01

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh i see it is wrong. have to go further out!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Help me guys

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what vishal says. 3.01 works

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i was wrong earlier, 3.1 does not work

OpenStudy (vishal_kothari):

thanks...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nono i think i have the answer i think it is X = 3.0597 or not?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

?? the question says "Find x > 3 such that ln(x) < x^(0.1)" there are infinite such x's

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did you see my question? Are we allowed to graph? Do you have a graphing calculator?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i found it !!! the answer is x>11ln0.1/1-(0.1)^11

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you are trying to solve \[\ln(x)=x^{.1}\] you will get something like \[x=3.05973\] but i have no idea how you are going to solve it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh my god.... i will going to be worse in that exammmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if the question says "find x" then what is wrong with 3.01? maybe i don't understand the question. if it is "solve \[\ln(x)=x^{.1}\] that is quite a different problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which is not trivial by any means, and if you are expected to answer with a decimal then i guess you need to use a graphing calculator. here is what i got with wolfram http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=ln%28x%29%3Dx^.1 click on "exact form" to view the decimal
