How do you do this problem... 2x + 5y = 10

OpenStudy (akshay_budhkar):

ok as we can see this problem has two variables. so unless you have another equation to support it it cannot be solved

OpenStudy (akshay_budhkar):

the only thing we can do is we can graph the equation. it will turn out to be a straight line

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It says to write each equation in slope intercept how do you do that

OpenStudy (akshay_budhkar):

ok the slope intercept form is \[y=mx+c\]

OpenStudy (akshay_budhkar):

so you just need to rearrange the terms to get it into that form

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so how do you plug that in

OpenStudy (anonymous):

put the y to the left: 5y=-2x+10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and then divide each term to 5, you will have the slope intercept form
