the form of a linear equation that shows the slope and one point is the...?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

"slope one-point" form?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

point slope form

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is the "one point" reference to the intercept, (0,c)? Slope-intercept / y = mx + c

OpenStudy (amistre64):

yeah, that "one point" seems a bit vague to me.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because if it isn't I have no idea and have never heard of it =)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the point-slope form clearly shows the slope and one point ...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Point Slope Form

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it was one point form

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The slope intercept form can show it too

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Welll I haven't done algebra since high-school so I don't remember the names of the different forms of basic graphs.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the form of a linear equation that shows the slope and one point is the...? y = mx + b = slope intercept form. It shows the slope (m) and one point. It shows the y intercept point y - y1 = m(x - x1) = Point slope form. It shows the slope(m) and one point (x1, y1) So both are correct I would think

amistre! happy new year!

OpenStudy (amistre64):

thnx, happy new year to you too :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

missed you here. welcome back.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i missed being here .... but i taught meself the linear algebra stuff while I was offline ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

good you can share it with me. one never knows enough linear algebra.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

oh its rather convoluted fer sure; gotta be done with computers for anything that represents real life situations

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh then i will not understand it. about every 4 years or so i once again look at some linear algebra. one day it will stick
