OpenStudy (anonymous):

How many chromosomes are in each daughter cell at the end of mitosis?

OpenStudy (geometry_hater):

i think its 24 because i keep thinking 48 then it divides by 2

OpenStudy (sh3lsh):

It depends on the type of cell. For example, we have different number of chromosomes than a plant or mouse. Geometry Hater is thinking about meiosis. Anyway, it should be the same number as the original.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mitosis is c ell division for growth, repair and replacement, so whatever the diploid species number (e.g. 46 chromosomes in humans) that would be the same number in the daughter cells. You only get the haploid number (e.g. 23 chromosomes in humans) with meiosis - reduction division.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

as it is mitosis so their will be diploid daughter cell

OpenStudy (anonymous):

46 chromosomes or 23 pairs
