What is the correct (MLA) format to cite a quote? This is what I'm trying to cite: “Travel makes one modest, you see what a tiny place you occupy in the world “ - Gustave Flaubert Do I also include information about it in the work cited page?

Sira, you'll want to cite where you found the quote in the works cited page, but put Gustave Flaubert as the author. Try to find the primary source. As to how you'll cite it: "Travel makes one modest, you see what a tiny place you occupy in the world" (Flaubert). OR Gustave Flaubert once said "travel..."

or something like that :)

Thanks! I got the quote from a website, but it's from the book Flaubert in Egypt. I so far have cited it like this" “Travel makes one modest, you see what a tiny place you occupy in the world “ - Gustave Flaubert Flaubert in Egypt But I dont know the page number for it.

Its always good practice to trace it back as far as you can to who/where it was originally cited from. Sometimes that may mean you dont have a specific page number, especially if it is form a very old source.

in that case, I'd do something like this: Flaubert, Gustave. Flaubert in Egypt. 1933 (or whatever the pub year is). Book. 13 January 2012. <www.websitehere.edu>
