3p+14p+15=0

OpenStudy (katrinakaif):

17P + 15 = 0 17P = -15 17p = -15/17

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Solve? is the first p or p squared?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Given 3p^2 + 14p + 15 = 0 Factor (3p + 5)(p+3) = 0 Solve p = -5/3 or p = -3

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Whatever they said.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what did they say saifoo?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(what about solving \[3p^x + 14p +15 = 0\] for p as a function of x, so that you can solve the asker's problem no matter what they meant?)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x = -15/17

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry i meen P*

This is a quadratic equations, there are 2 solutions to this problem, we have a + and a - for this equation. With a=3,b=14 and c=15 now the equation should read as -15 (divsion type symbol)= + and - 14^2 =-4(3)(12) over 3(2) now i have -14 plus over minus -14 plus or minus, this is where I am confused, I need to solve 4(3)(12) and divide this by 6

Given 3p^2 + 14p + 15 = 0 Factor (3p + 5)(p+3) = 0 Solve p = -5/3 or p = -3
