Both mitosis and meiosis begin with a diploid cell that contains replicated chromosomes. Explain the main differences between these two processes and what types of daughter cells produced by each. Answer
oh, I AM SURE you can do this! :)
i did it already but the one i just posted making my head go crazy ahhhhhh
no wait this is the one im having trouble with
:) I know you can do it, but it's late and you've been working hard, so there: meiosis interphase is followed by 2 cell divisions (mitosis - 1) and as a result 4 haploid cells are produced (mitosis - 2 diploid). Let me know if this is not very clear.
can u please add just a little bit of more info :) and it will be good
thanks
Mitosis is for all cells except for gametes. So, as a result of mitosis you get 2 cells with 2n chromosomes. It is asexual reproduction, as a result of which you get 2 cells exactly the same as the mother cell. Meiosis is sexual reproduction, you get to haploid gametes that give you 4 haploid cells. In meiosis the exchange of genetic information also occurs (see your other question: chromosome exchange and crossingover)
how is this?
awesome :)
in mitosis the chromosome number is constant while in meiosis chromosome number reduces to half.
