I need help with Equivalents. Can anyone help me please?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It says "List at least 5 Equivalents to: 1/2 2/3 75% and 60%

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got 2/4....3/6.....4/8...5/10....6/12 for 1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Some commas would be helpful. In any case the answer for the first one, could be something like this: 2/4. 4/8, 8/16, 32/64, 64/128... You could continue but I think that should be enough.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you. Can you help me with rest? I'm going to be honest. I'm trying to help my lil sis with it. I never had to learn stuff like this in school.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

equivalent tO 2/3 are 4/6: 6/9: 8/12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whaever you do to the numerator you do to the denominator so if you multiply the top by two then multiply the bottom ny two also

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It says list 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm sorry i seem like a dummy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I couldn't even tell you how to go about figuring this out.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but its better if she learn show to do them, and for percentages i guess you could list fractions like for 75%=3/4 amd then get the rest of your answers from there

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes you are right. I can't teach her, if I don't even know how to do them. How'd you get 3/4 for 75%? And on the first 2 she just multiply?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well because 75/100 is the same as 2/4 its just reduced to the simplest fraction

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry not 2/4 but 3/4 my mistake

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So like 60/100 would be 1/4?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and yea she can multiply so if she has a calculator it might be easier for her

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and no to 60/100

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1/4 would be 25/100

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can think of it as money to get 1 dollar or 1.00 you need 4 quarters or .25*4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2/3s then

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh how I HATE MATH

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea! 60/100 would be closer to 2/3 but its acually .66 repeated

OpenStudy (anonymous):

She has to liste 5......how? on the percentage? and how do you get different top and bottom numbers if you just multiply both by 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol you need to learn very basic fractions then (1/1=1) (1/2=.50) (1/3=.333333) 1/4=.25) 1/5=.20 1/6=.166666) 1/7\[\approx\] .14 etc

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hold on let me try a dii approach

OpenStudy (anonymous):

diffrent i mean

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1 *2 = 2 _ - 2 *2 = 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

imagine thats 1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

make more sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes in a way. Sad I'm 26 and don't know this. The school I went to was a 1A and doesn't even offer Algerbra

OpenStudy (anonymous):

o wow im sorry :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thety only taught basic math, and fractions....so I'm so sorry that your having to help me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haa its okay im pretty horrible at math too so i would like it if someone were to help me when having problems

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, i told her about this site.... and if she uses it like i hope she does...and you see her on...and need help and if i can help you..then i will try my best....i'm not that bad on some math....sad thing is..i was in a real bad car wreck back in aug of last yr and my brain doesn't work like it should..i forget alot too soon...and anyway...i'm afraid to try to figure out the other 5 anwsers for these last 2 because i'm not sure i'm understanding it right, so i'm leaving it up to her to figure out...i've done most of it...but like i said...there is some math i do know..and if you need help and shes uses this site and see her on...ask for help..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol okay no problem im happy to help but im rarely on since i dont have the time to be on that much, but if she needs help add me as a fan and i think i can help her more ill try to check it wenever i can :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):
