A 5-year projection of population trends suggest that T years from now, the population of a certain community will be P(T)=T^3+9T^2+48T+50 thousand. A. at what time during the 5-year period will the population be growing most rapidly? B. at what time during the 5-year period will the population be growing most least rapidly?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i am wondering if there is a typo here. this is a cubic polynomial, and the larger T is the faster it grows

OpenStudy (anonymous):

unless it means this is the population for the next five years, in which case the slowest growth is at the beginning and then it speeds up

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's T raise to 3 + 9T raise to 2 + 48T +50.. sorry i dont know how to do it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no that is fine, that is what i thought it said.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah, can you answer it?
