\[r^2+2r^2\cos \theta \sin \theta\] Steps please.
\[r = \sqrt{x^2+y^2} \] \[ \cos(\theta) = \frac{x}{r} \] \[ \sin(\theta) = \frac{y}{r} \]
Trying to replace values now.
Still can't get it. It's actually what I tried to do many times. Except That instead of of going r = square root, etc. I plugged it in directly. I can't get seperate the 2xy at the end. I can t isolate the y since the answer is x+y = plus or minus 1.
\[x^2 + y^2 + 2xy = (x+y)^2\]
