difference between sequence (arithmetic) geometric sequence

OpenStudy (vishal_kothari):

an arithmetic progression (AP) or arithmetic sequence is a sequence of numbers such that the difference between the consecutive terms is constant. For instance, the sequence 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, … is an arithmetic progression with common difference 2...... a geometric progression, also known as a geometric sequence, is a sequence of numbers where each term after the first is found by multiplying the previous one by a fixed non-zero number called the common ratio...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so geometric sequence has nothing to do with a fixed progression?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nope. The only fixed part is the amount you are multiplying by.

OpenStudy (vishal_kothari):

it is fixed when 1 or 0 is mutiplied....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you very much :)

OpenStudy (vishal_kothari):
