hello to all. i am writing a paper on the American Revolution and what really caused the Boston Tea Party and I need three key points from the Patriots side and the British side. SOS!!

atriots (also known as American Whigs, Revolutionaries, Congress-Men or Rebels) is a name often used to describe the colonists of the British Thirteen United Colonies who rebelled against British control during the American Revolution. It was their leading figures who, in July 1776, declared the United States of America an independent nation. Their rebellion was based on the political philosophy of republicanism, as expressed by pamphleteers, such as Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton, and Thomas Paine.

Many Patriots were active before 1775 in groups such as the Sons of Liberty. The most prominent leaders of the Patriots are referred to today by Americans as the Founding Fathers of the United States. The Patriots came from many different backgrounds. Among the most active of the Patriots group were highly educated and fairly wealthy individuals. However, without the support of the ordinary men and women, such as farmers, lawyers, merchants, seamstresses, homemakers, shopkeepers, and ministers, the struggle for independence would have failed.

Anyway, the Tea Act, which cut the price of tea drastically, did not make the colonists happy. They thought Britain wanted a monopoly on the drink, which was not OK with them. They did not want to tea to be unloaded, and thus had to get rid of it.
The radicals, who were based in Boston, fueled the idea of rebellion against the Governor and backed the idea of throwing out the tea.
And the British chose to leave the ships docked in Boston, instead of moving them to Castle William, an island fort in Boston Harbor which radicals could not have reached, especially at night.
Basically, the Tea Act was the root cause and the radicals and poor British planning allowed the tea party to happen.
