Hello, I tried looking for the answer first but can't find it. I'm a complete beginner, how does Prof Grimson get the 2 windows for python (one appears to be for coding, the other for user inputs and outputs etc)? thanks.

He uses the IDLE environment: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IDLE_%28Python%29 When you launch IDLE, you have one special window that is the shell. It is here that you can interactively execute commands, and see the output of your programs. You can open other windows that are text editors you can use to code.

Thank you so much, I've been scratching my head over this for a while.  I'm surprised its not mentioned in the lecture what he is using and how to set it up.  Anyways, I'm able to crack on now.  Thanks again.
