How to enter a simple equation using \(\LaTeX\).

You either use the Equation editor by clicking on the "\(\Sigma\) Equation" button at the bottom left of the reply area or you can type it in manually. \(\boldsymbol{\underline{\text{Manual Entry}}}\) Equations are embedded between a pair of escaped square brackets. So an equation starts with \\([\) and ends with \\(]\) You enter your equation using \(\LaTeX\) between these square brackets. As an example suppose you wanted to enter a quadratic equation. You would type as follows: Here is an example quadratic equation:\\([\)ax^2+bx+c=0\\(]\) The text above would get rendered as follows: Here is an example quadratic equation:\[ax^2+bx+c=0\]
