The equation of continuity is quite simple. Suppose water flows in a pipe. Where the pipe is narrow, it flows at a greater velocity due to higher pressure, and where it is broader, it flows slower. So the area of cross section of a pipe appears to be inversely proportional to the velocity of the fluid flowing there. From your maths class, u must remember that if two quantities are inversely proportional to one another, their product is constant. A1*v1=A2*v2 **The liquid is considered to be incompressible. That means, due to pressure its density should not change/ Hope u got it.
