Choose the correct statement using the Venn diagram below. A Venn diagram with two overlapping circles and with the title "Favorite Sweet" is shown. The circle on the left is labeled "Cake" and has the number 5 written inside it, in the region that does not overlap with the other circle. The circle on the right is labeled "Cookies", and has the number 3 written inside it, in the region that does not overlap with the other circle. The number 10 is written in the region in which the circles overlap and the number 2 appears outside of both circles. Answer 2 people didn't like cake or cookies

8 people liked cake 18 people were surveyed People liked cookies more than cake

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(shouldn't that be "Favorite Sweets" plural to allow those 10 lucky folk to favorite both cookies and cakes?)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

20 people were surveyed

OpenStudy (anonymous):

more people faved cake than cookies

OpenStudy (anonymous):

15 people love cake

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how many people faved neither cake nor cookies?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1327256080112:dw| The overlap means both, so those 10 count once for cake and those 10 also count once for cookies. What happens when you take the total you cannot say 5+10 likes cake and 3+10 liked cookies thus all the people that liked either cake or cookies is 27 because you will have counted those 10 twice! so you subtract the overlapping part once A\["A or B" A \cup B = A + B - A and B\]
