Help Please. 20x^3-13x^2-60x-27/5x+3

OpenStudy (cathyangs):

ok...do you not know how to do this type of problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have no idea where to start

OpenStudy (cathyangs):

k, well you can set it up like a normal long division problem. \[5x+3\lceil 20x ^{3}-13^{2}-60x-27\]

OpenStudy (cathyangs):

because 5x goes into 20x^3 4x^2 times, you put 4x^2 on top, and work it out to \[5x+3\lceil (20x ^{3}-13x ^{2}-(5x+3)*4x ^{2})-60x-27\] (oops that should be 13x^2 up there :P)

OpenStudy (cathyangs):

you keep working it out like that, only paying attention to the first terms of the divisor and dividend, until you get to the end! do you get it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes this helps so much. Thank u:)

OpenStudy (cathyangs):

glad to help! :D
