Check please? If you are finding the line perpendicular to x + 3y = 5, what is the slope of the perpendicular line? This is 3 right?

yes, because the gradient of that line is -1/3, meaning the gradient of the line perpendicular to it must be such that the product of the gradients is -1. It must therefore be 3 since 3(-1/3) = -1.
