Why does S2O3 have an oxidation state of -2? 0.0

Sulphur and oxygen both have oxidation states of either 6 or -2. SImply put, if one sulphur atom has an OS of 6 and the other four atoms had an oxidation state of -2, the overall oxidation state of S2O3 would be -2.
