Part 1: the solutions don't exist, or equivalently the system is inconsistent.
For part two, I would use a matrix method to encode the coefficients and row-reduce it, but because I don't want to write it out in this text format, we will just use elimination: subtract equation two from equation one:
\[-5y = 5 \Longrightarrow y=-1\]
Sub y=-1 into either equation to get:
\[x=12\]
