Hey guys I just wanted to make sure I'm understanding my notes. This question seems too obvious.

Consider the vector u = i − 2j + 2k. What is
(a) the component form of −u,

I'm right in thinking -u = (-i+2j-2k) ?

I usually write component form as
<-1, 2, -2 >

See I'm not sure, in my notes I have. 'A vector u, with component form α i + β j + γ k may also be written as the triple
(α, β, γ).' So I assume they want the components listed out as above. I'll see if I can get it clarified before the test.

Don't forget that they are angle brackets in most textbooks. It is also possible that there are variations. Check your class notes to see what your teacher prefers.
