Can x^(1/3) be written as 1/x^3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But it's positive, and I have to find the 0s of the solution. The equation is x^(1/3) = -5/2, and I'm stuck of how to find x.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it can't be written that way. x^(1/3) means the cube root of x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1/x^3 is completely different

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what can I do with it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cube both sides :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so x = (-5/2)^3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then calculate that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

good job!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you!

the awkward moment when that was an even number.. and they told us to do all odds.. fml
